How to pitch Puressência
For journalists, PR teams, labels and artists: what the magazine publishes, what to send and where.
The magazine
Revista Puressência is an online music magazine published by Puressência Produtora in São Paulo. It tells the history, gives opinion and follows what is happening in fashion, culture, technology, events, startups and the environment.
Stories are published in Portuguese, each with a short English summary. Issues such as No. 01, October 2026 are laid out like a print magazine, to flip through and as a PDF. The newsroom uses a collective byline. Texts are written with AI assistance, and every fact is checked at the source before publication.
New stories go up when the reporting is done.
Before you write
- A source for every fact
- Send the official link for each detail: date, label, credits, venue. No source, no fact.
- Images
- We do not publish third-party photos, posters, album covers, logos or screenshots. Stories use our own typographic covers and house artwork. There is no need to send press photos.
- No prices
- We do not publish ticket, product or service prices.
- No advertising
- No ads, sponsorship or pop-ups, and no audience rankings.
- Quotes
- At most one short, attributed quote per story. Never song lyrics.
- Read us first
- The sections and Issue No. 01 show the magazine’s tone.
Who sends what
- PR teams, labels, artists and promoters
- Story ideas, releases and dates for the Agenda.
- Journalists and researchers
- Ideas for reported and history pieces.
- Readers
- Corrections and suggestions.
Formats
- News
A new fact with an official source: a release, announcement, award or decision.
Send: the announcement link and the date.
- Reported story
Reporting with more than one source and a fact box, each field with its own source.
Send: the angle in a few lines, why now, and the official sources behind it.
- History
Lineages, dates and back stories: where today’s music comes from. In No. 01: From Düsseldorf to Detroit, Memphis on tape and G-funk.
Send: the period, the places and the documentary sources.
- Opinion
Newsroom pieces, always labelled and built on sourced facts.
- Agenda and Events
Festivals, shows and screenings with dates confirmed on official channels. Each entry has city, venue, official site and source, and no ticket prices.
Send: the date, city, venue and the links to the official site and the announcement.
- Issue
The magazine in print format. The cover story is always journalism, chosen by the newsroom.
The nine sections: Music, History, Opinion, Fashion, Culture, Technology, Events, Startups and Environment.
What to send
- The subject in the subject line.
- A few lines: what it is, why now, and why it matters to our readers.
- One official link per fact.
- The release or event dates.
Lead times
Online stories go up when the reporting is done. The Agenda only takes dates already confirmed on official channels.
What we don't do
- Journalism is not for sale: angles, sources and copy are the newsroom’s call.
- No audience rankings.
- No prices, no third-party images, no lyrics.
- House content is never mixed with the journalism.
Studio · From the house
The Studio is the production house that publishes the magazine: releases, videos, credits, live and house artists, always labelled “From the house” and kept apart from the journalism.
To work with the production house (music production, audio engineering, sonic identity and audiovisual with the A.MOTION studio), see Services: send the brief as it stands and, after a conversation, you get a written scope and proposal.
